Open Position: International Affairs Staff

Location: Shenzhen, China
Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen) is a satellite graduate campus of Peking University that is committed to becoming a top tier international campus. PKU Shenzhen was established in 2001 in cooperation with the Shenzhen government and now has eight individual graduate schools with an international community of over 200 members.
Work Responsibilities:

  • Actively update international faculty, staff and students on PKU Shenzhen announcements/events and encourage the growth of an international community.

  • Manage, update and design the PKU Shenzhen English website.

  • Coordinate with individual graduate schools for new international student arrival, including registration, accommodation and cultural adjustment.

  • Plan and manage the PKU Shenzhen Campus Life Orientation for new international students.

  • Provide bilingual support and English editing for the Chancellor’s Secretariat Office and related PKU Shenzhen administrative departments.

  • Oversee the student-run English media team, which includes a monthly newspaper, an annual magazine and online news articles.

  • Manage the Chinese language course for international faculty, staff and students.

  • Support PKU Shenzhen administrative staff English training.

  • Organize and/or support international community events.  

Position: Full-time (Monday to Friday: 8:00am-12:00pm, 1:30-5:30pm)
Start Date: July 2014 (flexible)
Contract: 1 - 3 years
Work Visa/Residence Permit: Provided
Negotiable after initial (face to face/phone) interview: salary, accommodation and annual flight subsidy 
-Native English speaker
-Bachelor’s Degree
-Basic level of Chinese language and a desire to continue learning
Preferred Skills:
-Chinese proficiency (speaking and reading)
- +2 years of work/study experience in China
-Administrative work experience at a university 
-Excellent cross-cultural communication skills
