August 30：HSBC Foundation donates RMB 150M to help building a world-class business school at PKU Shenzhen, which was henceforth renamed Peking University HSBC Business School.

October 22：Opening ceremony of the School of Transnational Law. 55 students attended for the first year of the program

May 26：The PKU Shenzhen Forum, initiated by PKU Shenzhen and Shenzhen Special Zone Press Group, opens in Shenzhen Special Zone Press Tower.

September 27：The State Council Academic Degrees Committee approves the School of Transnational Law Juris-Doctor degree. The first class to be enrolled in September 2008.

August 23：Launch of Peking University – University of Hong Kong dual Master Program in Economics and Finance.

June 18：First graduation ceremony of students having completed an entire program of study at PKU Shenzhen.

PKU Shenzhen begins the establishment of its Shenzhen Business School.

September：PKU Shenzhen moves from its temporary campus in Shenzhen High-Tech Zone to University Town, where the first construction phase is completed.

April: Establishment of main campus program extensions to Shenzhen.

September: First school year start for PKU Shenzhen students: they were 213 that year, including 3 Ph.D. students.

January: Approved by the Ministry of Education in January 2001, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School was established through the cooperation of Peking University and the Shenzhen Municipal Government.
