Internationalization

Since the establishment of PKU Shenzhen, internationalization has been at the heart of our mission. We want our faculty to be engaged in a global community and students to be prepared for a global economy.
PKU Shenzhen has a diverse body of multinational faculty, advanced research platforms and distinctive schools integrating bilingualism as a fundamental part of their character. These innovative features combined with the broader academic platform of Peking University enable us to offer a student experience which aligns with the career aims of international students and attracts high-level international talent.

International Students

PKU students come from everywhere. A diverse group of over 150 full-time international students are realizing their potential to be global leaders in business, law and a wide array of industries. Our international students gain critical cultural insight into China and an experience that gives them a clear advantage in the increasingly interconnected economy and world.
Regardless of whether the student is a domestic or international student, they engage in a collective international learning experience in our campus. We support the cultivation of an inclusive community for building mutual understanding.
International students enter the rigorous academic environment of PKU and study alongside their outstanding peers in graduate programs at the PKU School of Transnational Law and the PKU HSBC Business School. Academic programs which have been designed with international students in mind are still fully integrated with domestic students.

International Partners

We strive to overcome boundaries and be a hub of innovation. Central to this success is the ability to engage in fruitful international partnerships and support scientific collaboration. Shenzhen has been identified as a model city of economic development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. We share in its values of bold innovation and exploration. As such, we are eager to engage with international research and industry partners where there is strong compatibility and a common commitment to meaningful collaboration.

The School of Environment and Energy, School of Urban Planning and Design, School of Advanced Materials, HSBC Business School and School of Transnational Law have established 14 joint training projects with other universities. Partners include many fellow research institutions also recognized as among the top universities in the world. These initiatives support research and talent training and are essential to delivering advancements in knowledge and technology which effectively meet the needs of the increasingly complex world.

We also cooperate in exchange partnerships with universities worldwide. Exchange agreements allow us to welcome a culturally rich group of around 100 exchange students to our campus during the typical year. Exchange students take part in a wide variety of cultural activities and enrich themselves through exposure to Chinese culture and language, while also becoming a valuable part of our campus with the skills and new perspectives they bring.
