2013/11
From October 9 to October 13, Table Tennis matches for the ‘Freshman Cup’ were held at the table tennis hall at Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School sports center. The matches were hosted by Youth League General Branch of Peking University Shenzhen and Table Tennis Association of PKU Shenzhen. The event provided an excellent for both professional and amateur table tennis enthusiasts to showcase their skills. Peking University has a glorious history of promoting table tennis and PKU Shenzhen has embarked upon the same.
A total of nice teams participated in the event. These included teams from School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), School of Electronic and Computer Engineering(SECE), School of Transnational Law(STL), School of Urban Planning and Design(SUPD), School of Chemical Biology and Biotechnology(SCBE), School of Environment and Energy(SEE), School of Advanced Materials(SAM) and two teams from HSBC Business School(PHBS). The teams divided into two teams participated in the league matches while SAM participated directly in the knock out matches.
The event saw intense competition along with many light moments provided by the several cheerleading teams cheering for their friends or schools with each round harder than the previous one. Team One from HSBC Business School ultimately came out victorious while team two from the business school were runners and SCBB was placed third. The event ended on a positive note of appreciation and many participants expressed a desire to participate in similar events in the future.
