On March 8th 2010 Peking University, Shenzhen Graduate School celebrated International Women’s Day, a major day globally for the economic, political and social achievements of women. It is important to recognize that as a gender, females at any age can be affected by gender inequality.
With the support of the Workers Union and the organizers, Chancellors Secretariat Office and Students Union we celebrated this day with great joy dispersing 600 flowers with an attached quote to inspire everyone to improve the status of females and celebrate their achievements. We also shared this year’s United Nations theme which is ‘Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities; Progress for All’.
Chairman Mao once said, “Women hold up half the sky.”!
