On the evening of May 10th, the Campus Singing Competition was held in celebration of the 115th anniversary of Peking University. 16 signers entered the finals and advanced through three rounds of fierce competition to name the best campus singer. Chancellor Hai Wen, Vice Chancellor Luan Shengji, Vice Chancellor Niu Hongwei and Deputy Party Secretary An Xiaopeng.
The Campus Singing Competition Finals is PKU Shenzhen’s annual music event that can’t be missed. In the first round of the competition, each contestant sang a song in 90 seconds of his or her own choice. Their scores were calculated and the top contestants went on to the next round.
In the second round of the competition, the contestants were able to randomly select a song from a 30-song library and sing for 2.5 minutes. The top six where selected by judges to enter the next round to compete for the first, second and third prize of the competition.
In the third and final round, a winner was selected. The top six showcased their talent and gave their best effort in hopes of being crowned the winner. In the end, Li Xiang, a student from the School of Urban Planning and Design, was determined as the winner. Wang Meng, a student from the School of Humanities and Social Science won second place and Xiang Jiao from the School of Environment and Energy Xiang Jiao came in third place.
