Nanyan, another campus of our famous Peking University, embraced its 10 year anniversary on December 21st 2011, which won the sight of the public from all over the world. It has been a remarkable ten years when we look back at the progress we have made this decade. It has been a hard-working ten years that we`ve been through and over the next ten years we will encounter new challenges! From the ground up, from nothing to what we see today, PKU Shenzhen Graduate School has already grown up to face the international opportunities and sail towards a new journey.

Before the ceremony party began, there was the annual parade of beautiful costumes. Different schools prepared different styles of costumes to celebrate the ten year anniversary PKU-Shenzhen. Vice President of Peking University and Chancellor of PKU Shenzhen, Hai Wen, together with Assistant President of PKU, Executive Vice Chancellor of PKU Shenzhen, Shi Shouxu and other leaders attended this ceremony to enjoy the moment of celebration.

Tonight`s party had three parts; from Dreams to Triumphs and finally to Sailing. The passionate Water Drums lit up the stage amid splashes of water as well as the vigor of youth. Everyone became excited and fevered as the part of ‘Dream’ started. The song of Peking University, “The Eternal Love for PKU”, performed by the chorus, reminded us of the memory that lived in the north, in the glory and history of PKU. Following the song was a hot hip-hop “Break Dancing Club” and instrumental performance “The Dawn”. A sitcom, “Good old days”, recalled our daily lives here; like volunteer activities, best singer competition etc. When the part of ‘Triumphs’ began, we saw many talented youth, who were fond of composing poems and talking freely about their life goals. Even those pioneers came up to the stage to sing the song of “We love the Tian`an men Square” to express their emotional feelings. Ren Xiusheng, one of the first leaders rooted in PKU Shenzhen, said he still remembered the old times when they came with nothing and now this campus has flourished.

When the part of ‘Sailing’ came, President Hai, with Ms. Shi Shouxu and other leaders of PKU-Shenzhen together poured the wine into the ice statue of ‘Ten year Anniversary’ to memorize the achievements of PKU Shenzhen. There were many cheers and laughs from students with their respected teachers, and all the audience felt happy and proud of being a PKU Shenzhen member. The moment that President Hai picked two lucky students who won the special prize, was the climax point of the party and all began to applaud and clap their hands.

Ten years is not a long period of time, however, we`ve tried our best to polish this beautiful campus. Ten years is actually not a short period of time either. We`ve done a fantastic job to turn this space into a vigorous and lively place. We look forward to seeing what will happen in the next decade and the start of another dream, sailing to the world!
