On the evening of September 26th, 2024, the Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKUSZ) held its National Day Celebration and Welcome Party at the Conference Center. Among those in attendance were Xu Xuyan, Secretary of the Foshan Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, as well as school leaders, including Zhang Jin, Chancellor of PKUSZ.

The event features both online and in-person channels for students and faculty. Over 4,000 audiences joined the live broadcast, experiencing an evening including a classic interpretation of traditional art, a showcase of modern technology, and a collection of original works.
The opening dance by the student art troupe’s street dance team lit up the stage. Each hip-hop move was filled with energy, and the vibrant rhythm swept the audience into a wave of dancing.

Next, the Foshan Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League presented a captivating lion dance. Zhang Jin and Xu Xuyan took center stage to dot the lion's eyes, symbolizing awakened strength and a fresh start to academic journey. The drumbeats, the lion dance, and the display of Wing Tsun highlighted the vibrant essence of traditional Cantonese culture.

Immediately afterwards, students from the School of Electronic and Computer Engineering delivered a captivating performance that seamlessly blended classical style with modern technology. Dressed in traditional Chinese costumes, they danced with fans and spears, accompanied by singing and rapping. This fusion inspired the audience's passion for Chinese traditional performances.

DARIA, a faculty member from Russia, and Li Guanghui, an international student from France, came together to perform a song. In French, Russian, English, and Chinese, as well as the universal language of music, they celebrate the beauty of diverse cultures.

This was followed by a performance from the School of Environment and Energy, which skillfully combined singing and dancing with themed stage effects. The show seamlessly blended ancient and modern themes, providing the audience with an engaging journey through history.

The lyrics chain game provided a fun break, with 10 participants divided into two teams, taking turns singing or reciting song lyrics. Meanwhile, a prize drawing activity added to the excitement, creating a lively atmosphere.

A song performed by teenagers from the Tianji Choir of the Shenzhen School of the High School Affiliated to Peking University brought the audience back from the break. The piece conveys teenagers’ love for nature and their hopes for the future.

The recitation and voice acting show titled I Love Nanyan (PKUSZ), presented by the School of Chemical Biology and Biotechnology, uses humorous dubbing to portray students' everyday lives. It explores the joys and challenges they face in school, allowing the audience to relate closely to the performance.

With the participation of Prof. James Viator, the School of Transnational Law’s musical interestingly captures the study and life on campus, making the show even more special.

After the exciting game, the student art troupe's electroacoustic band, featuring guitars, drums, and electronic keyboards, encourages the audience to join in and sing along.

Then, the dance team of the student art troupe presented a folk dance, with the dancers embodying the rhythm of life as if they were walking through the Gobi Desert.
