Twenty-three years have passed like a song, and the Southern Yanyuan campus has grown vigorously. To review the past year's journey of struggle and glorious achievements, and to look forward to welcoming the new spring, on January 13, 2025, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School successfully held its 2024 Annual Summary Meeting and 2025 Faculty and Staff Spring Festival Gathering.

As winter solstice brings forth the sun and the year turns anew, in the past year, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School has adhered to its development philosophy of "problem-oriented, north-south linkage, AI-driven, and innovative integration," setting sail on a new journey and continuing forward to write a new chapter.
The party and administrative leadership team members and Chancellor's assistants presented annual reports focusing on research, personnel and alumni work, graduate education and training, campus construction and management, student affairs, discipline inspection and teacher ethics construction, faculty party building, united front and labor union work, financial affairs, publicity work, AI4S special projects, and the development of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Leadership Reports
Tan Wenchang summarized the work of the PKUSZ's Party Committee. He stated that over the past year, the Party Committee had made significant progress in political leadership, atmosphere creation, support provision, and development promotion. The number of Party branches and Party members has continued to grow, with strengthened Party theoretical development; Party discipline education was deepened through special activities; inspection reform tasks were completed with new working details and rules established; the spirit of educators was actively promoted, service quality for talent was enhanced, and teacher ethics construction was strengthened; the assessment mechanism for middle-level cadres was optimized, and cadre capabilities were improved through diverse training; great importance was attached to faculty Party membership work, and rich branch activities were organized. Looking ahead, the Party Committee plans to conduct Party building work around the "Year of Scientific and Technological Innovation" and explore effective models for Party committee work in off-site education.

Zhang Jin delivered a concluding speech. He highly commended the work achievements of all units and the dedication of all faculty and staff, noting that in 2024, the Graduate School further deepened comprehensive cooperation with the Shenzhen municipal government, achieving fruitful results in talent cultivation, discipline construction, research achievement incubation and transformation, campus culture construction, and campus quality improvement, with breakthrough progress in AI4S construction, international development, and humanities restart. In 2025, the Graduate School will focus on the school's strategic deployment of the "Year of Scientific and Technological Innovation," strengthen organized research, lead comprehensive innovation through technological innovation; solidly advance the construction of scientific intelligence disciplines, use AI as a driver to comprehensively enhance the integrated innovation of discipline development; vigorously promote international student recruitment progress, increase talent cultivation efforts, and build first-class culture and environment to enhance the well-being of faculty and students. He hoped that all faculty and staff would unite and work together to build a world-class Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School and continue to write more "spring stories" of Peking University in Shenzhen.

First to perform was the School of New Materials with their dance "Wonderful Surprise." The dance was introduced by a lively and interesting interview video, with dancers igniting the atmosphere instantly with their nimble movements.

The School of Information Engineering presented the song "AI.ing." They integrated the concept of AI4S into the song, interpreting the fusion of technology and innovation through melodious voices.
The School of Chemical Biology and Biotechnology brought the song and dance "Climbing Spring Mountain." The new arrangement took everyone into a passionate world of scientific research, showing the enthusiasm and dreams behind research.

The School of Environment and Energy's song and dance "Peach Blossoms Blooming" was filled with spring atmosphere. Dancers waved peach branches while video blessings from faculty and students played in relay, drawing continuous applause from the audience.

The PKUSZ Union brought jazz dance "Inhale Exhale," showing a unique style. Their dance moves were full of power and passion, displaying the charm of jazz dance to the fullest.

The School of Urban Planning and Design's dance show "Going to Work" humorously portrayed the daily work state of faculty and staff, drawing continuous laughter and applause from the audience.

After the performances, program selection and awards ceremony took place. HSBC Business School, Administrative Departments, and School of Information Engineering won the top three places respectively. The winners came on stage to deliver New Year greetings to everyone.
