Twelve-Time Champions! Nanyan Athletes Triumph Again at PKU Sports Festival

As spring breathed new life into campus, the 32nd Peking University Sports Culture Festival and Spring Sports Meeting concluded in grand fashion at Wusi Sports Field on April 26, 2025.

This year, the athletic team from Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen) once again delivered a stunning performance, sweeping all group championships and securing 422.5 total points to claim the overall championship title. Building on their “eleven-time champion” legacy in 2024, they now celebrate a remarkable twelve-title victory!

A Parade of Pride: The Opening Ceremony

Leading the opening procession, the PKU Shenzhen delegation marched forward with confidence and precision, embodying the spirit of “Tech-Driven Nanyan, Innovative Greater Bay.” Against a backdrop of shifting landscapes and urban silhouettes, they showcased the school’s dynamic blend of tradition and innovation, telling the story of 24 years of growth and excellence in Shenzhen.


Nine schools united in rhythm, colorful flags fluttered, and students and robots together presented a vibrant performance—a vivid celebration of youth and technology. In this “Year of Scientific Innovation” at Peking University, guided by the vision of AI for Science, PKU Shenzhen stands ready to shine once more.

Rising to the Challenge: Passion on the Track

This year, 45 athletes from PKU Shenzhen made the journey north to Beijing, bringing with them determination, grit, and team spirit to compete alongside students and faculty from across the university.

In race after race, they transformed tireless training into victory. In the sprint events:

Track Events

  • 200m Finals

    • Men’s: Li Hangyu, Huang Yuhong, and Liu Houcheng finished 5th, 6th, and 7th respectively.

    • Women’s: Cui Chang clinched 3rd place, followed by Huang Siyong (6th) and Zhao Zhao (8th).

  • 400m Finals

    • Men’s: Santiago, Li Ziye, and Li Yuncheng secured 2nd, 3rd, and 6th place.

    • Women’s: Cui Chang (3rd), Li Haiying (4th), and Maguette (6th) showed impressive form.

  • 800m Women’s Final

    • Cao Huijuan, Sun Hanzhi, and Maguette placed 4th, 5th, and 8th.

  • 1500m Men’s Final

    • Shao Zhicheng, Wang Zuyan, and Gao Yifan represented PKU Shenzhen.

  • 5000m Finals

    • Men’s: Shao Zhicheng finished 7th.

    • Women’s: Cao Huijuan secured 8th.

    • Mixed 5000m Relay: PKU Shenzhen placed 5th.

  • 4×100m Relay

    • Men’s Team: 1st Place – Liu Houcheng, Huang Yuhong, Yang Wenshuai, Liu Xiong

    • Women’s Team: 2nd Place – Peng Jiansu, Liu Songyue, Zhang Shiwei, Huang Siyong, with Zhao Zhao as substitute.

  • 4×400m Relay

    • Men’s Team: 2nd Place – Santiago, Li Yuncheng, Li Ziye, Li Hangyu, with Gao Yifan as substitute.

    • Women’s Team: 1st Place – Qiu Yu, Li Haiying, Maguette, Cui Chang, with Zhang Shiwei as substitute.

Field Events

  • Long Jump

    • Men’s: Ye Rushi (2nd), Yang Wenshuai (5th), Chen Kewei (8th)

    • Women’s: Zhao Jiajia (2nd), Zhang Shiwei (4th), Peng Jiansu (6th)

  • High Jump

    • Men’s: Xie Beichen took 1st place, with Qiu Zhiren and Zhang Dang placing 3rd and 6th.

    • Women’s: Zhao Jiajia (7th) and Meng Yuan (8th)

  • Shot Put

    • Men’s: Wei Xingpeng, Gao Han, and Fang Shule ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

    • Women’s: Wang Yuyan took the title, with Peng Jiansu (4th) and Meng Yuan (7th)
