Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School held a meeting with representatives from its incoming class of 2025, including international students on 16 September 2025.
During the forum, the new students shared their early experiences of academic and campus life at PKU Shenzhen, as well as their aspirations for personal and intellectual growth. Many expressed a desire to connect with like-minded peers and strive together through academic exchange and collaboration. They also put forward constructive suggestions covering a range of areas such as research platforms, student services and amenities, course instruction, career guidance, and extracurricular activities.
Zhang Jin,Executive Vice President of Peking University and Dean of the Shenzhen Graduate School extended a warm welcome to the new students and encouraged them to actively contribute ideas towards the development of the graduate school. He listened attentively to their concerns regarding academic, research, and daily life matters, and responded in detail. President Zhang emphasised that the school will strengthen interdepartmental coordination and improve service mechanisms to provide more thoughtful and efficient support for students. He also urged students to cherish their time at PKU Shenzhen, make full use of its resources, and aim high in their research endeavours, while maintaining physical and mental wellbeing. He expressed hope that they would grow into well-rounded individuals ready to engage with the challenges and opportunities of their time.
