On December 23, 2025, a delegation from China Roots and Shoots Rural Education and Development Promotion Association visited Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen). They engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty and students on the theme of “Education for Sustainable Development.”
During the exchange, Huang Xiulan, Deputy Director of the Foundation Secretariat and Alumni Affairs Office, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Education Foundation at PKU Shenzhen, stated that the foundation aims to build a 5A-level social organization. By continuously driving resource integration and project incubation, it actively supports academic research and social welfare initiatives, effectively advancing practices in sustainable education.
Both parties reached a cooperation intent regarding the campus plastic reduction project of the “Green+ Association” under the School of Environment and Energy. China Roots and Shoots will leverage its grassroots public welfare project experience to provide funding application support for the project, helping PKU youth students sow the seeds of environmental protection through “green leadership.”

Subsequently, the two sides further conducted a thematic discussion on the “integration of industry, academia, and research.”
This visit laid a solid foundation for cooperation between the two parties. Adhering to the principles of “resource sharing and pragmatic advancement,” China Roots and Shoots and PKU Shenzhen will continue to expand the depth and breadth of their collaboration—from specific campus plastic reduction practices to the systematic cultivation of sustainable development talents. Together, they will use education as the vessel and public welfare as the oar, jointly advancing toward the vast horizon of sustainable development.
As the year draws to a close, this commitment to a green future has quietly taken root in the warm winter of southern China.
