Before the event, faculty and students wrote their New Year wishes on a "New Year Wish Wall" and shared a traditional folk activity—cutting paper spring flowers—to experience the charm of the season.

During the gathering, students shared their thoughts and suggestions on topics such as the development of distinctive academic programs, support for innovation and entrepreneurship, campus cultural activities, research platform resources, and improvements to logistics services, all in light of their personal growth and academic needs. Many expressed that the thoughtful care from the graduate school made the day feel especially warm and strengthened their resolve to pursue progress in the year ahead.

Dean Zhang Jin extended festive greetings and New Year wishes to all students, acknowledging their efforts and growth over the past year. He encouraged them to carry forward the spirit of Peking University, stay grounded, strive for excellence, hone their skills through both academic and practical pursuits, broaden their horizons amid challenges and opportunities, and embrace the tasks of the new chapter with renewed confidence.

University leaders engaged in meaningful conversations with students, learning about their experiences and aspirations at the graduate school, and presented them with New Year gift packages—bringing the institution’s care directly to their hearts.

The luncheon served as a warm and down-to-earth platform for dialogue between students and leadership, offering those staying on campus over the holiday a true sense of home and strengthening the collective spirit for the journey ahead. In the year to come, faculty and students at the Shenzhen Graduate School will continue to uphold the guiding principles of "problem-oriented, coordinated development between Beijing and Shenzhen, AI-driven innovation, and interdisciplinary integration." With renewed enthusiasm for research and learning, they aim to contribute their wisdom and energy to the school’s scientific innovation and the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
