Application Guide for PKU Shenzhen International Summer Camp 2026

1. Overview

 

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (hereinafter referred to as PKU Shenzhen), PKU Shenzhen will be hosting the International Summer Camp that brings together its world-class academic resources with the innovative spirit of Shenzhen, a world-renowned city in the Special Economic Zone and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. All eligible international students are warmly welcome to join us in exploring cutting-edge disciplines, gaining insights into China’s economic and technological development, and experiencing Lingnan culture this summer.

 

2. Program Details

 

(1) Time: July 6 (Monday) to July 10 (Friday), 2026

(2) Location: Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, University Town, Nanshan District, Shenzhen City

(3) Program Languages: Chinese and English

(4) Enrollment Capacity: 50-80 students on a rolling basis until full

 

3. Eligibility

 

(1) International students and students from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s program at Chinese and overseas universities and institutions.

(2) Strong academic record with a competitive CGPA in any field of study.

(3) High proficiency in academic English or Chinese.

(4) A Strong interest in cutting-edge science and engineering; preference will be given to applicants who plan to study further in China.

(5) Good physical and mental health; full participation in all Camp activities is required.

 

4. Program Modules

 

The Summer Camp consists of four core modules: Masters’ Sharing, Academic Exchanges (Sub-Camp Activities), Business/Laboratory Visits, and Cultural Immersion.

 

Module 1: Masters’ Sharing

 

Distinguished scholars will deliver lectures on topics such as China’s cutting-edge scientific research and economic development.

 

Module 2: Academic Exchanges (Sub-Camp Activities)

 

There are six science and engineering Sub-Camps and one humanities and social sciences Sub-Camp. Applicants will be assigned to one Sub-Camp based on their academic background and interests. Each School will organize activities including the School introductions, academic seminars, and face-to-face sessions with faculty and student representatives.

Module 3: Business/Laboratory Visits

 

Students will be visiting the leading enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, including Nanshan iPark Laboratory, Futian Mangrove Nature Reserve, and high-tech companies.

 

Module 4: Cultural Immersion

 

Students will be appreciating the Shenzhen sceneries, experiencing traditional Chinese culture, and interacting with students from PKU Shenzhen.

6. Application Procedure

 

(1) Application Period

The application is open until 24:00 May 31, 2026 (Beijing Time).

 

(2) Online Registration

The entire application process is conducted online. Applicants must first complete the registration questionnaire, then send all application materials to the designated Sub-Camp liaison via email.

 

Step 1: Register online via Wen Juan Xing or Google Forms by scanning the QR Code or clicking on the link below:

 

 

Step 2: Send the following application materials to the corresponding contact email, with subject line “Summer Camp Application + [Your Name] + [Currently University Name]”.

 

a) Academic CV;

b) Personal statement (500 to 800 words) describing your motivation, academic interests, and future plans;

c) Official undergraduate or master’s transcript from your current university;

d) Official certificate of enrollment from your current university;

e) Official language proficiency test results (e.g., TOFEL, IELTS, HSK);

f) Other supporting documents (academic paper publication, award certificates, etc.).

 

Note:

a) Each student may select up to two Sub-Camps but will be assigned to only one following the Organizer’s review. Please send the application materials to the two Sub-Camps together when applying.

b) Applications will only be reviewed if all materials are submitted to the designated Sub-Camp email address.

c) All the information or materials provided shall be true, accurate, and complete, otherwise your eligibility will be revoked.

 

7. Admission

 

(1) Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as quota is limited.

(2) The application review and admission will be conducted by the corresponding Schools.

 

8. Program Fees

 

(1) Both the application fee and tuition are waived for all applicants. On-campus meals, short-term medical insurance, and transportation will be provided at no cost by the Organizer.

(2) Participants are responsible for their own round-trip travel, accommodation, off-campus meals, and other personal expenses.

(3) The Organizer will assist students in booking accommodations near Campus. Early registration is recommended to secure preferred accommodation.

10. Reminders

 

(1) All the information or materials provided shall be true, accurate, and complete, otherwise your eligibility will be revoked.

(2) Participants requiring a short-term visa to study in China are advised to apply as early as possible. Supporting documents for the visa application will be provided upon request.

(3) Participants shall attend all Camp activities. Those who are absent without valid reason will not receive the Completion Certificate.

(4) Participants shall comply with Chinese laws and PKU Shenzhen rules and regulations during their stay.

(5) Any changes due to unforeseen circumstances will be communicated by the Organizer in a timely manner.
