PHBS Receives Letters of Gratitude from University of Cambridge and Other Donation Recipients

Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) has received letters of gratitude from University of Cambridge for PHBS faculty, staff and alumni’s contribution of medical supplies to aid the University in its fight against the global COVID-19 pandemic. “Your kindness, friendship and generosity will not be forgotten and will help save lives. One World – One Fight, We are in this together,” remarked Professor Andy Neely, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Enterprise and Business Relations at University of Cambridge; and Professor Christoph Loch, Director of Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS).

Loch said he was heartened that CJBS community, with PHBS as such a valuable partner, could remain united and steadfast in this challenging time. NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group also wrote to CJBS, conveying thanks to PHBS for the recent donation.

Letters of gratitude from University of Cambridge
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the UK is experiencing shortages of medical supplies. To help in the fight against the virus, PHBS has donated 1,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) clothing, 300 protective medical goggles, and 10,000 test kits to Guy’s Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital, and Cambridge University Hospitals. PHBS UK campus also helped to facilitate the medical supplies donation from Construction Bank of China University (London) to Oxford Vaccine Group.

The third batch of 800 pieces of PPE clothing has arrived in England and will be sent to University of Cambridge, while another batch of 4,300 test kits is scheduled for shipping after completing customs formalities.The contributions to purchase all those medical supplies were made by PHBS faculty, staff and alumni. The donation from PHBS received support from Peking University Alumni Association in the UK, and ZhongShang International Consulting Services Co., Ltd.

According to Xinhua News Agency, donations from PHBS are also part of efforts made by Shenzhen, China's innovation hub, in the global fight against COVID-19. The city has donated over 300,000 medical masks, thousands of test kits and protective suits as of last month.
