Brief Introduction of SEE
The School of Environment and Energy (SEE) was established in 2009. Its mission is to lead the vanguard in the graduate education in environmental protection and renewable energy to establish a model of low-carbon research and education, to train elite problem-solvers for environmental problems, to do research in atmospheric environmental pollution control, water quality, and ecology problems with the development of urbanization, to guide the renewable energy industry in environmentally-friendly technology research and development, and to promote sustainable development of human societies.
SEE offers both MS and Ph.D. degrees in two major fields: Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering with almost 180 master and doctoral students in 2020. It focuses on 3 distinctive research directions: Atmospheric Environmental Science, Watershed Ecology&Environmental Engineering and Bio-energy Engineering. SEE carries out interdisciplinary collaborative innovation with basic scientific research and industrial development goals and has received support from Peking University main campus and Shenzhen Graduate School. Welcome talents at home and abroad to join us actively.
SEE has selected environmental microbiome as one of the key development areas. In the future, SEE will be committed to the frontier research of the Environmental Microbiome and the development of environmental biotechnology. The key areas include big data analysis of environmental microbiome, the occurrence and transfer mechanism of resistance gene environmental pollution, the research of extreme environment microbiome, sewage treatment microbiome, and human-environment interface microbiome, which provide technical support for the research and development of basic science and environmental biotechnology in the environmental microbiome.

Job Description
Tenure-track Assistant Professor
Focusing on the research frontiers of environmental microbiome and environmental biotechnology, exploring relevant new theories, new methods and new technologies, taking natural and artificial microbial ecosystems as the research object, studying the interaction between microbial populations, and establishing new theories and technical systems to develop basic research on environmental microbiome and practical application of environmental biotechnology.
1) Have a learning background from a well-known university at home or abroad, have obtained a doctorate in a related professional field and have obtained certain scientific research results, can grasp the frontiers of related disciplines, have the ability to carry out original research in this subject field, and be good at conducting interdisciplinary research;
2) With good oral expression and teamwork skills, which can promote international exchanges and cooperation in the discipline;
Tenure-track Associate Professor
Using the theories, methods, and technologies of the environmental microbiome and environmental biotechnology, to focus on the key scientific issues of natural and artificial microbial ecosystems, to carry out cutting-edge scientific research on the correlation between microbial populations, and to improve the international influence of environmental microbiome as the key development direction of our school.
1) Have a learning background from a well-known university at home and abroad, have obtained a doctorate in a related professional field and have obtained influential scientific research results, can grasp the frontiers of related disciplines, have the ability to carry out original research in this subject field, and be good at conducting interdisciplinary research;

Full Professor
As a subject leader to lead the overall development of the environmental microbiome as the key development direction of our school.
1) Have a doctorate degree in related professional fields.
2) Have a professor-level (or equivalent) title in a world-class university or research institution.
3) Has achieved influential scientific research results and a high academic reputation in related fields and has good oral expression and teamwork skills, which can promote international exchange and cooperation in the discipline.
Salary and Welfare
Salary is highly competitive and is in accordance with applicants’ qualifications and experiences. In addition, the Shenzhen government provides various generous monetary subsides which many incoming professors may qualify for.
