On April 20th at 8:02am, an earthquake with the magnitude 7.0 took place in Lushan county of Ya’an, Sichuan. The sudden disaster resulted in serious casualties and destruction of many people’s homes. Natural disasters show no mercy, but the community has strength in unity to overcome any disaster. PKU Shenzhen gathered donations and compiled words of support for the people of Yan’an. The PKU Shenzhen community came together to show their support for the people affected by this atrocity.

Beginning on April 22th, PKU Shenzhen successively held the “ Pray For Ya’an” event, which included activities such as collecting donations and gathering words and signatures of support. The event was jointly organized by the Youth League, the Graduate Student Union and the Young Volunteers Association. Donations will be collected until April 25th. Vice Secretary-General of PKU, Secretary of the Party Committee PKU Shenzhen, Zhiqiang Bai and Director of Students Office Xiaopeng An also participated and showed their support.
