On the afternoon of January 11, 2013, the PHBS Student Union and the International Association held the first “World Tour” International Culture Carnival. International Students from the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia prepared booths that showcased their home countries, representing nearly 30 different countries. Participants could “tour the world” sampling food and playing games from countries around the globe. PKU Shenzhen Chancellor Hai Wen and Vice Dean of the HSBC Business School Vincent Chang attended the Carnival.

Students from Pakistan and Bangladesh prepare some traditional food.
Participants were able to purchase postcards that serve has their passports as they collected stamps from different countries. All proceeds from the event were donated to the CSAF, a foundation that helps underprivileged children have access to education and health examinations.
The World Tour Culture Carnival provided students with an opportunity to experience cultures from around the world. PKU Shenzhen Chancellor Hai Wen spoke highly of the event saying that the Carnival builds a platform for intercultural exchange and furthers the internationalization of the PKU Shenzhen campus.
