On September 9, 2026, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen) held a meeting with representatives of the incoming Class of 2026.
Meeting in Session
Representing different schools, including international students, the new students shared their early experiences of studying and living at Nanyan Yuan. They spoke about their impressions of research, teaching, and campus culture, as well as their academic plans and personal development goals.
Many expressed the hope of finding clearer academic directions and strengthening their capabilities through research and practice, while broadening their perspectives through interdisciplinary exchange and learning from one another.
The student representatives also offered constructive suggestions on issues including access to and sharing of research resources, learning resources, campus facilities, and student support services. University leaders and heads of relevant departments listened carefully and responded to the issues and concerns raised by the students.

Zhang Jin warmly welcomed the Class of 2026 and congratulated the students on beginning a new stage of their academic journey. He said that PKU Shenzhen would carefully consider the suggestions raised at the meeting, continue to listen closely to students’ needs, and provide thoughtful and efficient support. Zhang encouraged the students to draw strength from PKU’s academic traditions, embrace Shenzhen’s innovative spirit, and pursue research that addresses real-world challenges and creates meaningful value.
