Peking University Shenzhen is a research driven campus of Peking University. We are proud of the achievements of our graduate students. PKU Shenzhen programs are among the best in China.

PKU Shenzhen houses some of the most sophisticated research facilities in engineering, computer science, urban planning, genomics and finance and is thus an ideal place for your graduate education. Currently, our English-taught programs include Master and Ph.D. programs offered by the HSBC Business School and an LL.M. program offered by the School of Transnational Law.

Master Programs

Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) currently offers three full time master’s degree programs to international students providing specialist professional or research oriented training in Economics, Management and Finance.Find information on each of the programs here.

All these programs are coursework and research based programs culminating in a thesis defense. The degree requires 54 credits required for graduation with the Master program and 56 credits for the full-time MBA degree. The business school houses one of the best faculty team in China as well as Asia with all faculty members holding Ph.D.’s from the best business schools all over the world.

Ph.D. in Economics

The HSBC Business School offers a three year full-time doctoral program in Economics. Currently this program is open to master’s students enrolled at PHBS’s Economics program. Usually three students are admitted to this program every year following an extremely rigorous selection process.

Now PHBS also welcomes students outside our Economics program to apply directly for our PhD program, given that the following requirements are fulfilled:

-1.Must pass HSK level 6

-2.Must have written a thesis in Chinese previously

-3.Must have masters in Economics, Finance or closely related field.

Common Law Juris Doctor and China Law Juris Master Dual Degree Program

Peking University School of Transnational Law (STL) is the only law school in the world that combines an American-style Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) with a China law Juris Master degree (J.M.). STL provides an academically rigorous, bilingual four-year program of legal education that prepares students for the mixture of Common Law, civil law, and Chinese legal traditions increasingly characteristic of the global economy.International students with proficiency in both English and Chinese are eligible to apply STL’s J.D. and J.M. dual degree program. STL’s four year J.D. and J.M. dual degree program is rich in cutting-edge courses designed to equip STL graduates of all nationalities for law practice and leadership in advanced economies based on technological innovation, global financial services, and internationalization. J.D. courses are taught in English and China law J.M. courses are taught in Chinese.

LL.M. Program

STL’s LL.M. program is rich in courses emphasizing transnational law and practice, Chinese and Western law and legal traditions, and other cutting-edge courses designed to equip STL graduates of all nationalities for law practice and leadership in advanced economies based on technological innovation, global financial services and internationalization. LL.M. graduates will emerge from their the program as lawyers uniquely equipped for leadership in today’s interconnected world, with deep knowledge and understanding of Chinese and Western law and legal traditions and with the practical skills necessary for cross-cultural success. LL.M. graduates from STL will go on to distinguished careers in private sector, public sector, public interest legal work, and legal academia around the world.
