Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School has successfully launched a series of mental health support and ice-breaking activities for all incoming Class of 2025 students, under the theme “Integration, Connection, Growth.” The programme, organized by the university’s counselling centre in partnership with professional psychological service provider Mantu Psychology, aims to help new students adapt to campus life, build supportive social networks, and enhance mental wellness—marking the first time the initiative has fully covered every academic school.

The programme featured diverse, well-structured activities. Under the guidance of experienced group counsellors, students took part in interactive games, scenario-based activities, group discussions, and collaborative tasks designed to break the ice and build initial connections. Not only did the sessions create an open and relaxed atmosphere to strengthen mutual understanding and trust—they also introduced mental health knowledge, stress management techniques, and teamwork practice. These elements helped students develop communication skills, self-awareness, and emotional resilience, laying a solid psychological foundation for their future academic and community life.

The event received strong backing from across the university and saw active participation from new students. Many reported making new friends, feeling less isolated upon arriving on campus, and gaining greater anticipation and confidence for their graduate studies ahead.

The centre will continue to expand its diverse mental health support offerings to ensure the well-being and holistic development of all students.
